What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable worshipping your Lord in is fine with us. You will see suits and dresses to sweatshirts and jeans. In the summertime you will find some of us in business attire and some of us in shorts and sandals. We are a truly, “come as you are” church!
What type of music do you play?
Our church features a live worship team! We have keyboards, bass and lead guitars and drums. The music selections vary with contemporary christian being the main genre. However you can expect some hymns, country and rock selections from time to time, all focused toward the sermon message! We also feature members of the congregation singing or performing songs that speak to all of us!
What does a typical Sunday consist of?
Although you can always count on an encouraging and humorous message that will inspire and sharpen your focus on God, we don’t have a “typical” format. Some Sundays the pastor’s sermon will also include videos, skits performed by members of the church, musical selections or guest speakers to enhance the message. However, EVERY Sunday you will find friendly smiles, warm hearts and people who will help you grow closer to God.
Can my kids stay with me during the service?
Absolutely! We have activity bags available with crayons, paper, reading books, etc. Just ask an usher for as many bags as you need. We also have nursery/toddler care for infants and toddlers beginning at 9:15 am. with excellent care staff. If your child is in preschool through 5th grade, they can participate in our awesome Sunday School classes and KidVenture worship service. Children’s Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. If you would like your child to participate in the Kidventure Worship Experience, after their Sunday School class they can remain downstairs in the “intersection room” with parent and teacher volunteers until KidVenture begins. Here they will find Christian video games, arcade style basketball, floor games, craft projects and more! Then the real kid fun begins at 10:45 for KidVenture “A worship experience”! Kids will hear a message from our Pastor Lori, win prizes, participate in games geared toward that week’s Bible message and bring home materials to continue the lesson at home throughout the week. When you are finished with the upstairs service you can pick up your child(ren) downstairs in the “intersection room”.
What about teens?
For Tweens and Teens we have Youth Jr. High (Spark) and Youth Sr. High (Reverb). Both groups meet together on Sunday mornings in the church basement in the Youth Room at 9:30 am. While in Sunday School the youth participate in the Get Rooted Bible studies and applying them to their daily life as well as discussing real issues the teens (and tweens) are facing. During the week our Jr. High (Spark) youth meets at the church on Tuesdays from 7:20 t 8:30pm. Sr. High (Reverb) meets at the church on Wednesdays from 7:20 to 8:30 pm.
May I take communion?
WFMC celebrates the Lord’s Supper (communion) every month. Everyone who has a relationship with Christ is encouraged to participate in this holy covenant. You do not have to be a member to receive communion. Instructions will be given as the bread and cups are passed out.
